About PART
The last word in first response.
PART — Paper AED Response Training — exists because the gap between a crisis and professional help is often filled by nothing. By silence. By people who wanted to help but did not know how, or were too afraid to try.
We built PART to fill that gap.
A Paper AED is a defibrillator you carry in your head. You cannot see it. You cannot hold it. But when someone's world goes dark, you can use it. PART teaches you how.
Our philosophy
Being WITH someone.
We do not believe in clinical distance. We do not believe in scripted responses. We believe in presence — in the radical act of sitting with someone in their worst moment and not flinching.
PART is not about having the right answers. It is about asking the right questions, and then being quiet enough to hear the response.
Rule 0: Protect yourself first. You cannot hold a torch for someone else if yours has gone out.
Rule 1: HEAR what is being said. Keep your mouth shut. The most powerful thing you can do in a crisis is listen — really listen — without fixing, advising, or redirecting.
"Silence kills.
Learn to scream."
"No one gets left in the dark."
Why in-person
Some things cannot be learned on a screen.
We do not offer online modules. We do not offer self-paced certification. We do not believe you can learn to be present with someone by watching a video.
PART sessions happen in rooms, with people, in real time. That is not a limitation. That is the point.
